Campaign Fact Sheet
What is the purpose of the campaign? To raise the funds with which to finance building a new church, and increasing Immanuel church's outreach to our community. What is the expected cost of the project? $1.2 million. How will it be financed? It is anticipated that in addition to the gifts and pledges to the campaign, the proceeds from the sale of the present building and funds secured through a mortgage will provide the funds needed to complete the project. Where will the building be located? The site is at the corner of Whitehall Road and Route 50 on the land purchased through the Vision Fund project. How will be Building on the Vision campaign take place? A campaign cabinet, chaired by Danny Luthy, has been at work since February making plans. The major events of the campaign will take place in May. How can I get more information about the campaign? The campaign brochure has been mailed to each household. In addition members and friends are invited to attend a home coffee klatch ask questions and learn more about the campaign. What will the new building include? The new facility will be highly accessible, all at ground level. It will include a sanctuary that will seat over two hundred, a functional social hall and kitchen, church offices and classrooms. The floor plan is shown in the "Building on the Vision" campaign brochure. When will the campaign kickoff? An all-church dinner will take place at the church Saturday, May 15. All members and friends are invited to attend. There is no charge to attend. Our Associate Conference Minister, the Rev. Jim Bell, will be our guest speaker. How will gifts be received? A team of volunteers, known as Witnessing Stewards, will make visits to our church families to explain the project, and invite their financial support. How long will I have to complete my gift to the campaign? Pledges may be paid over a three year period. Some individual may wish to have a longer payment period. When will the campaign visits take place? Witnessing Stewards will call to arrange a visit. Most will take place on Sunday afternoon May 16, with the remaining visits to be scheduled in the week between May 16 and May 23. When will the campaign results be known? They will be announced on May 23, Celebration Sunday. The gifts and faith commitments will be dedicated. Our special guest will be our Conference Minister, the Rev. Dr. John R. Deckenback. |
